Fix Images not showing as thumbnails on Windows 10

 

Do you have a Windows operating system and suddenly all the images in the folder are no longer displayed as thumbnails? If this happens to you too, don't worry as I found the solution. There are two ways to fix picture thumbnail issue on Windows 10/8/7. So if you want to fix the images to show as thumbnails, just follow the 2 solutions below. Please note that the same procedure also works on Windows 8 and 10 where images are not displayed as thumbnails.

1st Solution- ^Enable Thumbnail Viewing in My Computer Settings

If the above solution doesn't work to preview the thumbnails in the folder on Windows 7/8/10, try this option.

1. Open My Computer and click ' Organize '
   
2. A drop-down menu will appear. Click on ' Folder and Search Options '.
3. This will bring up ' Folder Option', click 'Show Tab' as shown below :
   
4. You will find a checkbox named ' Show file icon on thumbnails ' under ' Files and Folders '.
5. Make sure it has to be checked. If not, click on it and then click Apply.

Fixed the thumbnail issue! Now you can open any folder that consists of images. A preview of the thumbnails will appear.

Setting via advanced system settings

Isn't it annoying that images are shown as files instead of thumbnails and individual JPEG files have to be opened to check them out?

This is an easy way to fix the problem. Complete the following steps:

1. Right click on My Computer and go to Properties .
2. This will open the System tab.
3. For more information, see ' Advanced system settings ' in Click on it on the left.
4. This will open ' System Properties '. Click on ' Advanced System '
5. Under ' Performance ' click ' Settings '.
6. This will open the performance options and you will see 4 radio buttons you need to click on the 'Custom' radio button it looks like this:
7. Make sure that ' Show thumbnails instead of icons ' is checked.

You're done !! Open a folder consisting of images. Now the thumbnails will be previewed.
