How to fix the HP printer validation failed error problem

"Printer validation failed." The message usually pops up on your screen, sometimes shortly after receiving a driver update or a power outage. The message is issued by the printer software when obstacles in the cartridge's path restrict its movement. If you want to solve this problem, run these solutions on your computer.

Fix 1 - printer uninstall and install

If nothing works for you, uninstall and reinstall the printer driver.

UNINSTALLATION PROCESS
STEP 1-

First you need to uninstall the printer related software.

1. Right-click the  Windows icon and click Run .

2. Then type " appwiz.cpl " and press Enter .

3. Once the Programs and Features window appears, locate the printer-related software.

4. Right-click the first printer-related software, and then click Uninstall .

Follow the on-screen instructions to permanently uninstall it from your computer.

5. Same way. uninstall all printer-related software.

Step 2-

1. First unplug the printer cable from your printer.

2. Then press Windows key+R to  start Run ,

3. Type " control printer " and press  Enter .

The Device and Printer window opens.

4. Then, in the list of printers , right- click the problematic printer and click " Remove device ".

5. This will remove the device from your computer.

6. Now click " Yes " to confirm removing the device.

Step 3-

You must uninstall the specific driver for your printer

1. Press the Windows key+R keys at the same time .

2. Then enter this code and click " OK ".

3. In the Print Server Properties window, switch to the Driver tab .

4. Here you will see all installed drivers in the list. Look for the name of your printer driver.

5. Select the printer driver and click Remove to remove it.

6. Finally, click " Apply " and " OK " to save this change.

This will remove the printer driver from your computer. Go to the next step.

STEP 4-

Now you need to delete the printer related data from your computer.

1. Open the File Explorer window.

2. Open File Explorer on your computer.

3. Then click " View " on the menu bar. After that, click on " Options ".

4. After that, you need to select "Show hidden files, folders and drives " option from the "View" tab .

5. Don't forget to click Apply and OK .

6. Then go to this folder location-

C:/ProgramData

7. Then double- click on the " Hewlett-Packard " folder .

8. Then right-click any directory in the Hewlett-Packard folder and click Delete .

Make sure Hewlett-Packard is completely empty.

Close File Explorer when done.

Step 5-

Finally, you need to uninstall the printer driver from your computer.

1. Pressing Windows Key + R  should open the  Run  window.

2. Type ' devmgmt.msc ' and click ' OK '.

3. In the Device Manager window, expand the "Printer Queue" section.

4. Then right- click the printer and click Uninstall Device .

5. Click " Uninstall " again to confirm the uninstall process.

Then close the Device Manager window.

Restart your computer.

INSTALLATION PROCESS

Once your computer has booted up, it's time to install the latest version of the printer on your device.

1. Go to your printer manufacturer's official website, e.g. B. in my case the official HP printer download center.

2. Here simply enter the name of your product in the search field and click " Submit ".

3. Now expand the Software Utility section .

4. Then click " Download " to download the latest printer driver.

Close the browser after downloading the driver.

5. Now go to the location where you just downloaded the printer driver.

6. Then double click on the downloaded driver setup to install the latest driver.

7. Connect the USB cable to the printer.

Now follow the on-screen instructions to complete the printer driver installation.

You may need to restart your computer again to complete the driver installation.

Fix 2 - Use printer troubleshooter

Windows 10 has a built-in printer troubleshooter.

1. First, press the Windows key and the ' S ' key and write ' Troubleshooting '.

2. Just press " Enter ".

3. Then you need to scroll down and click ' Additional Troubleshooting '.

4. Scroll down on the right side and click Printer .

5. Next, click " Run the troubleshooter " to run the troubleshooter.

6. Then click " Advanced " to display the printer diagnostics advanced settings.

7. Just check the " Apply repairs automatically " box.

8. To go to the next step, click Next .

9. Then select your printer from the device list.

10. Then click Next again .

11. Then click on " Apply this fix ".

Finally, click Close Troubleshooter to close the troubleshooter.

Fix 3 - Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool

You can solve the problem with the HP Print and Scan Doctor Tool.

1. First, download the HP Print and Scan Doctor .

2. When asked "Is your printer currently offline?" click Yes .

2. Close the browser after downloading it.

4. Then go to the location where you downloaded the scan file, double click " HPPSdr " to run it.

5. Click " Run " to run it.

6. To accept all agreements, click " Accept ".

7. Then click " Start " to start the scan.

8. After the Printer Doctor has scanned and detected your device, you need to select the printer device.

9. Then click Next .

Now let the Printer Doctor diagnose your device's problem and fix it.

Fix 4 - Hard-Reset des Druckers

Hard reset solves many tiny printer problems.

Shutdown Steps-

1. First  turn ON  your printer.

2. Once the printer is turned on, remove the ink cartridge.

3. Next turn your printer  OFF  by pressing the power button on it.

4. Then unplug the printer cables from your system.

4. Next   shut down your system.

5. Finally, turn  OFF  the wireless router (if you connect the printer to the router).

Wait a minute.

Steps to start-

1. After waiting about a minute, simply turn ON the printer .

2. Then reinsert the cartridge into your printer.

3. Now it's time to turn ON your computer .

4. Then turn ON  the wireless router to complete the process.

Try to print any document with the printer. Check if this fixes your problem.

Fix 5 - Use the HP Smart app

The HP Smar app, a Windows 10 companion for Windows 10 mobile devices, has a troubleshooter to resolve the issue.

1. Open the HP Smart app.

2. After opening the app, click the " Three Bars " settings icon on the left.

3. Then click " Diagnose & Fix " to start diagnosing HP printers.

4. To start the diagnosis, then click on " Start ".

Now HP Smart will detect the problem and fix it for you.

5. To solve the problem, click Next .

Your problem should be solved.
