Run is the quickest way to open Paint on a Windows computer. To start, the command is ' mspaint ' and works in XP, 7, 10 and earlier versions. Microsoft Paint is a useful application that comes with the Windows operating system. With this tool we can edit different images such as JPG, BMP, JPEG, PNG, etc. Additionally, we can use the Print Screen button to capture the screen and save it via MS Paint. In short, it's mini Photoshop 🙂 for beginners.
The above image of the Microsoft Paint application was taken with the print screen and the paint tool.
I have shared three ways to open Paint on your system.
Follow the steps below to open Paint:
Method 1-Run
- Press the Windows + R key to bring up the Run box
- Type mspaint and press Enter
- . This will launch Microsoft Paint in front of your screen.
This command is one of the fastest ways to launch Microsoft Paint on your Windows computer.
Method 2-Using the Start button
These tips are for those who cannot easily get the shortcode. Therefore, just type color on the start button and it will appear.
Method 3-Using the command line
- Press Windows + R
- Type CMD and press Enter
- Now type mspaint and press Enter
- . This will launch the Paint application
If you want to open a specific image file, you can also do that from Command Prompt. For example, if the image file name is sample-image.jpf, the command is
C:\> mspaint C:\Users\Kumar\Desktop\Image1.jpgUsing the example above, you can open the image in Paint.
If you know any other method that can be used to launch MS Paint, let me know by leaving your comment below.
