Running the run command for remote desktop is pretty simple and straightforward. All you have to do is start the RUN and type mstsc in the box. To understand its process and usage, we will give you some brief information.
Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection software allows users to access their or another user's computer over the cloud using a cloud connection.
It uses the RDP , also known as the remote desktop protocol, to establish connectivity with the remote systems. The user can perform various activities like screen sharing, troubleshooting, commands, etc. by taking full control of the remote system.
Please note that the Windows 10 and 7 versions only allow a single remote desktop connection at any given time.
There are many ways to open the Remote Desktop Connection Utility such as: e.g.:
- command prompt
- Run Toolbox
- Home button
- search option
However, here I will provide a guide on how to open RDP using Command Prompt and Run toolbox.

Sometimes users may want shortcuts for some advanced features of the utility. Luckily, Remote Desktop Manager offers smaller and simpler attachments to do this using the Run toolbox. This works with Windows 10, 7, Vista and XP. Let's look at some of these attached shortcuts:
- If you want to open the Remote Desktop Connection window in full screen mode, just type mstsc /f and the RDC will take up the entire screen.
- Use the mstics /w: command to increase or decrease the width of the remote screen size.
- If you want to run the RDC in public mode, just add //public to mstsc.
- Just like /w:, the /h: command can be used to mention the remote desktop screen. 's height.
- If you want to open edit for specific RDP connection file, add /edit to mstsc.
Note : All of the above commands are executed using the Run command, i.e. Windows + R button .
