So if you're on a network, you might want to find out your computer's name in order to send a file to the correct location, or you might want to find out your computer's current name so you can change it to something unique. Whatever the reason, finding your computer's name in Windows 11 is a piece of cake.

In this article we explain in detail how to find the name of your computer in Windows 11 using 4 different methods.

Method 1: Using the System Settings app

Step 1: Launch the Settings app by pressing the WIN + I hotkey combination .

In the left pane , click the System tab .

In the right window you will now see the name of your computer.

Step 2: In the Settings app , there is another way to view your computer's name.

On the System tab itself in the right pane , scroll down and click on the About section .

Step 3: Right at the top of the About window , you can see your computer's name in two places as shown in the screenshot below.

Method 2: Using the Run command

Step 1: Launch Run window by pressing Win and R keys at the same time .

When the Run window opens, type or copy-paste the following Run command and click the OK button.

cmd/k Hostname

Step 2 : A command prompt window will now open, which will give you the name of your computer.

Method 3: Via Command Prompt

Step 1: First, the command prompt needs to be launched. To do this, press the WIN + R keys together to open the Run window .

In the Run window , type cmd and press Enter .

Step 2: When Command Prompt starts, type the following command and press Enter to display your computer name.

Hostname

Step 3: There is another command that you can use to view the name of your computer from Command Prompt. Type the following command and press Enter.

ipconfig/all

Now you can see the name of your computer under the Hostname entry.

Method 4: Through the System Properties

Step 1: Launch the Run window by pressing WIN + R keys at the same time .

You can copy and paste or type the following command. Press the OK button when done.

sysdm.cpl

Step 2: In the System Properties window, click the Computer Name tab at the top .

Now, in the Full computer name field, you can see your computer name.
