The auto login feature allows users to log in to their computer automatically without having to enter the password each time. Some users have recently complained that this automatic login feature is missing from their computer after rolling back or getting a new update patch. Do not worry. Usually changing the settings triggers this error. You can easily reset this setting back to normal by following the steps below.
Workarounds -
1. Just restart your computer once. Check if you can log in without a password.
2. Disable any antivirus programs running on your computer.
Fix 1 - Disable Windows Hello sign-in requirements
Step 1
1. First, press the Windows key+I keys at the same time.
2. Then click on the " Accounts " settings to access it.
3. Then click on " Sign -in options " on the left side.
4. After that, on the right side, set the " Require Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts " feature to " Off ".
Close the settings window.
step 2
1. Press the Windows key+R keys at the same time .
2. Then write this run command. Next, press Enter .
netplwiz3. When the User Accounts window appears, go to the Users tab .
4. Uncheck " Users must enter a username and password to use this computer ."
5. Finally, click " Apply " to save this change.
A new dialog box will appear on your screen.
6. Here, enter the account password in the " Password: " field.
7. Repeat the same performance in the Confirm Password: field .
8. Finally, tap " OK " to complete the process.
9. When you return to the User Accounts window, click OK .
Then close the User Accounts window.
Restart your computer and see if this worked.
After that, open user account settings and check if you can log in automatically or not.
Fix 2 - Edit the registry
Changing the registry should fix the problem.
1. Press the Windows key + R keys at the same time .
2. In the Run panel, type " regedit " and click " OK ".
NOTICE
Any changes made in Registry Editor that are not taken into account can lead to an unstable system. We ask you to make a backup copy of the registry on your computer.
After opening Registry Editor, click File . Then click " Export " to create a new backup on your computer.
3. Now go to this header file on the left-
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device4. Then right-click on the space on the right side and click " New> " and then click " DWORD (32-bit) Value ".
5. Name the key as " DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion ".
6. After that , double click on the key to change it.
7. Set the value of the key to "".
8. Click " OK ".
Just close the registry editor. Restart your computer to see the changes for yourself.
NOTICE-
If the registry fix doesn't work for you, try this approach-
1. Open the registry editor.
2. Then go here-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon3. Next, look for the " DefaultUserName " value on the right side .
4. Simply double-click on the respective value.
5. Make sure that the value provided in the "Value data" field is your account name.
6. If you are happy with it, click " OK ".
7. In the same right window, check if you can see a value called "DefaultPassword".
8. If you can't find it, right click on the space and click " New> " and then click " String Value ".
9. Name this new value as " DefaultPassword ".
10. Now double click on this " DefaultPassword " key to edit it.
11. Here, enter your account password in the "Value data:" field.
12. Finally, click " OK ".
13. Now look for the entry " AutoAdminLogon " on the same page .
14. Then double click on that specific value to edit it.
15. Then set the value to " 1 ".
16. Finally, click " OK " to save this change.
Close the Registry Editor window.
Don't forget to restart your computer once . This should enable the automatic login process on the computer.
Also, follow these steps if you want to turn off auto-login.
a. Open the registry editor.
b. In the registry editor, expand to this location-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogonc. Now double click on " AutoAdminLogon ".
i.e. Then set the value of this key to "".
e. Click " OK " to save the value.
Restart the computer once.
This allows you to turn off automatic logging on your computer.
Fix 3 - Use auto logon
Autologon is a tool developed by Microsoft to manage automatic logging for domain users.
1. First download the "Autologon".
2. Then unzip the " Autologon " in a location of your choice.
3. After you unzip the files. Go to the location where you unzipped them.
4. Now double click " Autologon64 " to access it.

You can also use the Autologon application if you are using a 32-bit system. Otherwise, if you are using the system running on an ARM processor, use " Autologon64a ".

5. Click on " Agree ".
6. In the Autologon Sysinternals window, you will see the "Password:" section already filled out.
Otherwise, enter your account password.
7. Then click " Enable " to enable autologon feature on your computer.
After enabling the feature, restart your computer.
Check if it is an automatic login to your device.
Alternative fix - Use Windows Hello sign-in feature
Alternatively, you can sign in to your computer using the Windows Hello sign-in feature.
1. Open the settings screen on your computer.
2. Then click on the " Accounts " settings.
3. Click on " Sign-in Options " on the left side.
4. After that, you will see three options named " Windows Hello Face ", " Windows Hello Fingerprint " and " Windows Hello PIN " on the left panel.
You can use any of these login options to log in without having to enter the thick passwords every time you try to log into the system.
5. Simply click on the respective setting and then on " Add ".
6. Then click Next .
7. Enter the Microsoft account password when prompted.
8. Click Sign In .
9. Then enter a 4-digit PIN.
10. Confirm the PIN again in the same field.
11. Finally, click " OK " to save it.
This is an easy way to set up a PIN for your computer. Whenever you try to log into the system, just enter the PIN and you can access it without any further problems.
