Fix ddkmd.sys blue screen error in Windows 10

In case your computer crashes in BSOD after installing a new driver, you may get this error message " System error exception, error code-ddkmd.sys " on your screen before your computer restarts. Do not worry. The corrupted driver you just installed is the main culprit here. To solve the problem on your computer, follow these simple fixes.

Fix-1 Delete Driver File in Safe Mode-

Deleting a driver in normal mode is unlikely. So you need to manually boot into Safe Mode and then try to uninstall the driver from your system.

Step-1   Boot into Safe Mode-

1.What you need to do when the Automatic Repair window pops up, click " Advanced Options ".

2. In the Choose an option window, select the Troubleshoot option .

3. You need to access the " Advanced Options ".

4. Just go to " Home Settings " to check the Home settings on your device.

5. When the Startup Settings window appears, click Restart .

6. You will find that different types of startup settings have popped up.

7. Press " 5 " on your keyboard.

Your computer will start in Safe Mode with Network Access.

Step-2 Start Windows Installer Service-

1. Pressing the " Windows key " and the " R " key will open the Run window.

2. In the Run window, type " cmd " and then press " Ctrl+Shift+Enter " keys at the same time to open Command Prompt in Administrator mode.

3. To disable Windows Search service, copy-paste this command in the Command Prompt window and press Enter to run it on your computer.

REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Network\MSIServer"/VE/T REG_SZ/F/D "Dienst"

4. Now you need to start Windows Installer service on your computer.

net start msiserver

Once you notice " The Windows Installer service started successfully ." message appears in the CMD window, close the command prompt.

Step-3 Uninstall the faulty driver-

Now all you have to do is uninstall the problematic driver from your computer.

(For example, here we uninstalled the sound driver from our computer to illustrate the process.)

1. Now press Windows Key+X and then click on the " Device Manager ".

2. You need to expand " Sound, video and game controllers ".

3. To temporarily uninstall the device from your computer, right-click on the recently installed driver and then click on the " Uninstall device " option.

Now restart your computer to fix the problem.

When your device restarts, Windows installs the default driver for the device.

Your device will work fine after restarting.
