Fix The computer appears to be configured correctly but the device or resource is not responding issue in Windows 10

While running network diagnostics to troubleshoot a no connectivity issue, the troubleshooter may display the error message " Computer appears to be configured correctly, but the device or resource is not responding ". Follow these simple fixes on your computer to fix this problem.

Fix-1 Flush DNS configuration

1.Press Windows Key+R to start Run .

2. Type " cmd " in the Run window and press " Enter ".

2. Now run the command given below in Command Prompt window.

netsh int ip reset reset.log

3. To flush and re-register DNS, copy-paste these two commands in the Command Prompt window and then Enter.

ipconfig/flushdns
ipconfig/registerdns

4. To release and renew the IP configuration data, run the below-given commands in the terminal.

ipconfig/release
ipconfig/registerdns

Reset netsh winsock

ipconfig/renew

Wait a few minutes to complete the process.

Try to connect to the website, check if the problem persists or not.

Fix-2 Set IPv4 settings to automatic-

Setting IPv4 settings to automatic will fix this issue.

1. Click the Windows icon and type " Network Connections ".

2. Then click " View Network Connections " to access it.

4. You will see the list of available adapters.

5. To access the adapter properties, right-click  the network adapter you are having problems with, and then click Properties .

4. To access the IPv4 settings, you need to  double click on " Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) ".

5. First, click the radio button next to the “Obtain an IP address automatically ” option .

6. Similarly, select the " Obtain DNS server address automatically " option.

7. Finally, click " OK ".

8. Double click on the " Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) " settings.

9. After that check these two options.

10. Then check the option "Verify settings on exit ".

Click " OK " to save the settings.

The settings are checked by your system. Close the Network Connections window .

Restart your computer to save the changes on your computer.

Fix 3 - Change DNS settings

1. Click the Windows icon and type " Network Connections ".

2. Then click " View Network Connections " to access it.

4. You will see the list of available adapters.

5. To access the adapter properties, right-click  the network adapter you are having problems with, and then click Properties .

4. To access the IPv4 settings, you need to  double click on " Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) ".

Note : If the above method doesn't work, change the DNS settings for IPv4 Settings in Google DNS.

a. To do this, simply click Use the following DNS server address.

b. Then enter 8.8.8.8 in a preferred DNS server and 8.8.4.4 in an alternate DNS server.

After that, click OK and try again.

Fix-4 Updating or rolling back adapter driver

Update the driver if you are using an old driver.

1. Just press Windows key + R  .

2. Then type " ncpa.cpl " and then press Enter .

3. Search carefully for the network adapter that you want to use on your computer.

4. Press Windows Key+R to start Run .

5. Then type " devmgmt.msc " and press Enter .

6. Click the Network Adapters drop-down menu to list the available adapter drivers.

7. Then right- click on the network adapter driver and then click on " Update driver " .

8. To allow Windows to search for drivers itself, select the " Search for drivers automatically " option .

Reboot once the update process is complete.

If you recently received a network driver update, consider rolling back the update.

1. Go back to Device Manager on your computer .

2. In the same way, expand the Network adapters section and double-click on the adapter used.

3. Then switch to the " Drivers " tab.

4. After that, click on " Rollback Driver ".

The driver update will be rolled back from your device.

Fix 4 - Disable proxy settings

According to some users, this problem occurs due to incorrectly configured proxy settings in IE.

1. Right-click the Windows icon and then click Run .

2. When the run appears, type " inetcpl.cpl ". Click OK .

3. In the Internet Options window, click the Connections tab .

4. After that, you need to click on " LAN Settings ".

5. Simply check the box next to the " Automatically detect settings " option .

6. To save the settings, click " OK ".

7. Finally, click " Apply " and then click " OK " to save the changes.

Now try to check the connection again.

Fix 5 - Change power settings

Changing the power settings should allow the adapter to use power all the time.

1. Just type " devmgmt " in the search box.

2. A single press of Enter and to open Device Manager.

3. Double-click again on the network adapter you are using.

4. Go to the "Power Management" tab .

5. Here uncheck the option " Allow the computer to turn off this device to save energy: ".

Then click " OK " to save the settings to your computer.

Restart the device.

If this fix doesn't work, move on to the next one.
