Fix Windows 10 update error 0x80240034

 

Error code 0x80240034 is commonly associated with Windows 10 update issues. More specifically, this error code prevents the entire OS update process. Microsoft has since released a fix for this error, but some people are still reporting that this error is not fixed. Don't worry, let us help you with that!

To fix error code 0x80240034, some users have used the following list of instructions to fix their problems.

1) Reset Windows Update Service.

1. To reset the Windows Update Service, simply open the "Services" as an administrator. To do this, type 'services' in the search bar and right-click Run as administrator.
2. Look for "Windows Update" there. Right click on it and stop it.
   1. You can also open a command prompt as an administrator and type 'net stop wuauserv', which will also stop it.
3. Once stopped, just right click and start.
   1. If you're using a command prompt, type 'net start wuauserv'.
4. After the reboot, try to restart Windows update. If not, continue to the next step.

2) Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter

1. To run the troubleshooter, just press Windows Key + I to open the Settings app, then go to Update & Security.
2. In Update & Security, you should see the Troubleshoot option on the left. Click on it and choose Windows Update.
3. After running it, follow the steps in the troubleshooter to see if that resolves the issues.
