When installing Windows or a Windows update, you may encounter a few Windows errors. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon, and today we're going to look at Windows update or installation error code: 0xC1900107

Windows error code 0xC1900107 refers to a cleanup process from a previous installation that is pending or must be installed before more updates can be installed. Below are some solutions you can try!
- Restart your PC
This error is related to a previous update or an update that needs to be installed before further upgrades. Nine times out of ten, a restart will fix the problem. If it still doesn't work, follow the rest of the steps that may help you install the updates!
Use the Windows Update Assistant
One of the ways we learned to use is by using the Windows 10 Update Assistant. We should mention that this only works if you're upgrading from a major version (1607, 1709, 1803, 1809, etc.) to the latest version. To use this wizard, go to the Windows 10 download page.
This will then tell you at the top if you can update with the latest version and give you an option for "Update Now". If you go here and then follow the steps you will be on the newer version which can fix many issues including Windows error code 0xC1900107 update issues.
Using the Windows Update Assistant
Run the Windows 10 Update Troubleshooter
Windows has integrated the latest fix into its software, the Windows 10 update troubleshooter. To do this, just type "troubleshooting" in the Windows search bar and look for "Windows Updates" in the settings. Then click "Run the troubleshooter" and let it do its job. This may require administrator rights if you do not have them!

Attempting a DSIM repair
It can happen that your PC is having problems because files are corrupted or broken. One way to find out is to perform a DSIM repair. This will fix Windows 10 image issues on your system. You must use the command line to do this. First, open the command line by typing "CMD" in the search (Note: if you are not an administrator on your PC, right-click and run the program as administrator

At the command line, enter the following command;
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
After the input, the processes are then executed. Don't worry, this can take quite a while depending on your PC. It may be worth stopping for a coffee or two. Once the process is complete, the program will tell you if there are any problems with your image and repair them if possible.

Contact Microsoft Support
While Microsoft might not be the best support, they will help you with issues like this. You can contact Microsoft support here and let them know what you did, what the error is and they can most likely pinpoint problems with your system or at least point you in the right direction.
If you ever speak to Microsoft or the Microsoft community, it's always best to include the 0xC1900107 error code to give them a better understanding!
Reinstall Windows
We would suggest this as a last resort. Windows 10 can be quite difficult to understand, and even more so when errors crop up. If all the above measures didn't help, it may be worth repairing or reinstalling Windows. If this makes you uncomfortable, you should consult a professional.
