Now, if you want to use this feature, you'll need to enter specific network credentials (which protects your computer's files from falling into the wrong hands). However, some of the Windows 10 users are reporting that they are having a problem as they are facing " Enter network credentials access error " when trying to access the files on another computer in the same network.
The reason behind this error can simply be an incorrect username or password , or it can be an IP mismatch. Here are working solutions to fix this problem immediately.
Fix-1 Change Windows Credentials
Credential Manager is a control panel utility that manages your website and network credentials. Adding the N network name/address , username and password may solve the problem. Follow these steps to add network name/address, username and password-

2. Click " Windows Credentials " and then click " Add Windows Credentials ".
3. Now enter the network address you want to connect to in the field next to " Internet or network address (e.g. myserver, server.company.com): ".

5. Enter the password of the network location in the field next to " Password: ".
6. Don't forget to click " OK ".
Close the Credential Manager window .
Start your computer. Now try to access the network again. If the error is still there, move on to the next fix.
Fix-2 Changing your IP configuration
IP or Internet Protocol is a set of instructions followed by interconnected network devices. If the IP address is not configured properly, you may face "Network Credential Access Error" when trying to access other computers on the same network. Follow these steps to configure your IP setting-
1. Press Windows key+R to open the Run window . Then type " ncpa.cpl " in the run window and press Enter .
2. In the Network Connections window , right- click the network connection you are using and click Properties .
3. Look for the " Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) " option.
4. Double-click this option to open the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties tab .
5. Now click on " Obtain an IP address automatically " and then on " Obtain DNS server address automatically ".
6. Finally, click " OK " to save the changes.
Start your computer. After your computer restarts, try to reconnect to the network. If you still have the same problem, go to the next solution.
Fix-3 Disabling Password Protected Sharing
A password is required to share, access, or transfer files from another computer to your computer on the same network. Disabling " Password Protected Sharing " OFF can fix "Error accessing network credentials" . However, before proceeding with the steps of the process, it should be made clear that password protected sharing is the most secure way to transfer your files or access the network. Remove password protection can leave your computer vulnerable to other users on the same network. Follow these steps to enable Password Protected Sharing" to disable-

Close Advanced Sharing Settings . Restart your computer and try to reconnect. If the problem persists, move on to the next fix.
Fix-4 Disable specific security policy from Local Security Policy-
Sometimes, some security policies can interfere with your access to the network, which can cause the "Error accessing network credentials" error . You can disable the particular policy that you are blocking access. Follow these next steps-
1. Click the search box next to the " Windows button ", type " Local Security Policy" and click Local Security Policy .
The Local Security Policy window opens.
2. Click Local Policies and then expand Security Options in the left pane .
3. After that , double-click on " Accounts: Restrict local accounts from using blank passwords for console login only " in the right pane.
5. Select " Disabled " and then click " Apply " and " OK ". Close " Local Security Policy ".
Start the computer. Try connecting to the network again. If the error is still there, move on to the next fix.
Fix 5-Disabling Credential Manager auto-launch
You can disable the Credential Manager Service in the S Services window . It can fix the error. To disable the Credential Manager service , follow these steps:
1. To open the Run instance, press Windows key+R on the keyboard .
2. Then type " services.msc " and press Enter on your keyboard.
2. Now look for the “ Credential Manager ” service. Double-click " Credential Management ".
3. Click " Startup Type: " and select " Disabled " from the drop-down list, then click " Stop ".
4. Then click " Apply " and " OK ".
Close the Services window .
Start your computer. Try connecting to the network again. You can then connect to the network. If you can't, move on to the next fix.
Fix 6 : Use your Windows 10 credentials
Try to use your username and password (which you use at the time of login) to access the network. It can solve the problem. However, if you use PIN or Windows Hello to log into the computer, you will need a password that you used to log into the system. Enter the account name you use as your username and enter your password in the Password field . This will solve your problem.
If the problem persists, go to the next solution.
Fix 7 -Try computer name and account name as username-
Use the computer name and account name in the same field of username . This operation can help you to remove "" Error accessing network credentials "" Take an example to understand the point.
Suppose you want to access another computer with a c computer name - Comp7 and assume that the account name on that computer is " Sam81 ." is ". So you need to enter the computer name and the account name without a space in the middle as the username . Then you need to enter the password of that computer.
So, the username- Comp7Sam81
Try to access the network again. If the problem persists, go to the next solution.
Fix 8 : Change your network profile to private
Windows prevents access to another network from your computer or vice versa if your network profile is set to Public . Setting it to Private helps as Windows allows access to the network. Before following these steps, make sure you 're not using a "public" internet connection like hotel or airport WiFi, which can leave your files vulnerable .
Follow these steps to change your network profile to Private
1. Click on the Windows icon in the taskbar and then on " Settings " at the bottom left .
2. In the Windows settings , click on the " Network & Internet " option .
3. In this window, click on " Change connection properties ".
4. Now in this window, under Network Profile, click on “ Private ”. This will set your network profile as Private . Close the Settings window .
Try reconnecting your computer to the network. Your problem should be solved.
